INSTRUCTOR GALLERY - Christine Keith
Christine Keith sees photography as a ticket of admission to explore
the world, and looks for subject matter with extraordinary light
or emotion. An Arizona native with a passion for people, landscape
and teaching, she started her career with fine art black and white
photography. She picked up a 4x5 camera and color transparency film
when she began to freelance for Arizona Highways and other editorial
magazines 25 years ago. For over 10 years she has been shooting
digital cameras as a staff photographer at the Arizona Republic
newspaper, a position she's held since 1989. A non-techie, she's
remained a photographer because of her interest in people, social
issues and wilderness. She's led numerous workshops for Arizona
Highways and works as an adjunct professor in photojournalism at
the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University.
She holds a Masters in Visual Communication from Ohio University.
Awards include Outstanding Faculty Associate, Walter Cronkite School
of Journalism, and the Leica Medal of Excellence.
