NEWSLETTER
February 4, 2005
Hello again everyone.
I wanted to touch base with you about several of our photo workshops
and share a little news. Spring is just around the corner and we're
getting ready for what should be an INCREDIBLE wildflower year here
in the Southwest. In fact the flowers in Phoenix and along many
of the state's freeways have already begun to bloom thanks to the
"heat-island" effect. The desert itself is never prettier
than when blanketed in poppies, lupine, globe mallow and owl's clover,
all of which should be blooming from roughly mid-February to late
March. I hope you'll be able to visit us during that time!
SUPERSTITION WILDFLOWERS CLASS UPDATE
Two of the Saturday and one of the Sunday wildflower workshops in
the Superstitions are already sold out. Barring any cancellations,
the last date with space available is March 20,
but there are only 2 spots available. If you want to join us for
one of these and need more information it can be found here:

NAVAJO LANDS AND PEOPLE
The original workshop sold out, and due to its enormous success
we are adding another workshop June 7-12.
As many of you know, photographer LeRoy DeJolie is Navajo himself
and has an intense passion for photography that he joyfully shares
with participants. This makes him the perfect leader for a workshop
that focuses on the beautiful lands and places that make Navajoland
special. Please call the office if you have any questions about
the workshop or would like to register. The itinerary is now online:

SLOT CANYONS
A lot of our participants are outstanding photographers, and many
have their own websites. We love it when you send us your links
so we can "ooh and ahh" over the pretty photos. Kevin
Zarmer recently forwarded us a link to some of his Slot
Canyon photos, and gave us permission to share the gallery with
you:

And if you want to take pictures like Kevin's, why not try our Slot
Canyons workshop May 3-7, 2005?

PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITS
We are also pleased to receive notification of participants who
are exhibiting work. Jack Schulman has some of
his work up in Tucson, Arizona through the end of February. The
exhibit, titled "On the Road," is on display at the Western
National Parks Association, 12880 North Vistoso Village Dr., Tucson,
AZ 85737. A map can be found here:

John Gavrilis is another incredibly talented participant
who shows work. One of the most prestigious exhibits he has coming
up is at the Scottsdale Art Festival, March 11-13 here in Arizona.
He has other shows posted on his website, and make sure to also
check out his extensive gallery of fine art photography:

NON-PHOTOGRAPHER RATE AND OTHER DISCOUNTS
Some of you have asked about bringing non-photographer spouses or
companions on workshops. This might include relatives or friends
who wouldn't participate in photo critiques or bring a camera, but
who would go to meals with us and into the field to see the fantastic
scenery we visit. Our current policy for first time clients is that
the photographer pays full price and the companion gets a 15%
discount. Past clients, however, already get a 10% discount
if they remember to request it at the time of registration. Non-photographer
companions of clients already receiving a discount would get 10%
off, as well. For more information about our discounts please call
toll-free 888-790-7042 to speak with Robyn or Michelle
directly.
FORWARD TO A FRIEND
Do you know someone who loves photography and might be interested
in one of our workshops? Please feel free to forward this newsletter
on to them.
We'll be back in March with more information for you, unless something
exciting comes up in the meantime.
Best regards,
Robyn Noll
