December 29, 2005

Season's greetings from your friends at Arizona Highways Photo Workshops. We hope this e-mail finds you enjoying time with family and loved ones, and looking forward to a New Year filled with health, prosperity and happiness.

SALVATION ARMY PHOTO SHOOT
The Salvation Army feeds over 5,000 homeless, elderly and low-income residents of Phoenix on Christmas Day every year. Almost half of the guests are children and they enjoy games, clowns, coloring tables, puzzles and a visit by Santa Claus. Adults can make free telephone calls and enjoy musical entertainment.

For the second year in a row, some of our volunteers were on hand to take and distribute holiday photographs of the families in attendance. This year we were lucky enough to enlist one of our participants to help take some of the photos, and were grateful for his hard work, as well. Five photo stations were set up the day before the event, and on Christmas Day approximately 1,000 photographs were delivered in a little over 2 hours. Some of the guests had never had a photograph of their family to call their own, and we are honored to have helped provide those again this year.

PHOTOGRAPHER'S WHALES AND WILDLIFE CRUISE
If you are participating in the cruise to Baja in a couple of weeks, there are some details we'd like to pass along. Some of you have had questions for the photographer, Kerrick James, and we've posted his responses online here:

If you have any more questions about the trip, please let us know and we will have Kerrick touch base with you. One of our volunteers, David Goodell, will also be onboard to help with photo questions throughout the voyage. The trip is officially sold out, which is exciting news since this is our first partnership with Cruise West.
