IN MEMORIAM

Photo by Tom KravecOur bus driver, fellow photographer and dear friend Jerry Glosser lost his battle with esophageal cancer on Sunday, April 2, at 8:20pm. He had been in the inpatient unit of Hospice of Arizona for 10 days and according to his wife received "the best care in the world" during his stay there. In his final days he was responsive to visitors for brief periods, joking with them as he was able. The nurses asked him if what he was seeing was prettier than the pictures he had taken and he said "Yes" with a big smile on his face.

Jerry was always quick with a smile, a wisecrack and a helping hand, and he will be sorely missed among us here at Friends.

Jerry's services will take place on Thursday, April 6, 2006 at the following location:

       Heritage Funeral Chapel
       6830 W. Thunderbird Rd.
       Peoria, Arizona 85381

  • Visitation is from 1-3pm
  • Funeral Service begins at 3pm

Photo of Coal Mine Canyon by Jerry Glosser

An unconfirmed source tells us that Jerry asked to be cremated and for his ashes to be scattered in Coal Mine Canyon.  This was one of Jerry's favorite spots in Northern Arizona.  He took photos of the canyon over the course of several years, and was happy when he FINALLY got some clouds to cooperate one day.  He shared a slew of medium format images from that shoot with us, and was rightfully proud of the image shown here.  It was clearly a place that brought him joy and satisfaction.
