Do you ever feel stuck in the ‘Program’ mode of digital life? Are your histograms flat and lifeless? Are you ready to scale taller visual peaks with your digital SLR? Then this course is for you.
We will start with the language of digital photography. Sounds boring but if we’re not speaking the same language, we’re not communicating. We’ll then review how the camera works: controls, short cuts and the best settings to use in different situations.
Naturally we’ll discuss the art of photography lighting, composition and timing. You’ll learn how to transfer and save your photos to your computer and you’ll also discover how easy it is to size images for both print making and email.
We'll spend an informative first evening in the classroom at the offices of Arizona Highways. There, we will sort through your technical questions allowing us to move into the art of making successful photographs.
The next morning we’ll meet at the Desert Botanical Garden and put your new found knowledge into practice. We’ll revisit light, composition and lens choices. After a 3-hour photo session, we'll bring everything full circle in a classroom at the garden. There you will choose 3 of your photographs for sharing and group discussion.
Mark your calendars, this one is sure to get your pixels flowing!
