We won't know until early to mid February 2009 if it will be a good flower year. If it is, we will like structure the classes like we did in 2008, with a teaching element in the classroom, followed by an on-site shoot, lunch in the field and more shooting until late afternoon.
2009 Dates: TBD
Cost: TBD
Once
winter rains have soaked into the Arizona desert and the spring
turns warm and sunny, the stage is set for what can be an
extraordinary display of vibrant desert wildflowers. Fields
of lupine, brittlebush, globemallow, Mariposa lilies, owl
clover, scorpion weed and Mexican poppies create a lush carpet
in the surrounding desert.
Our photographers, through their work with Arizona Highways,
have sought these flowers out for many years and know where
some of the most verdant spots will be. Whether along hillsides,
on the banks of desert washes, embraced by palo verdes or
protected by cholla and saguaro thorns, you'll be amazed at
the variety and color the Arizona desert has to offer.
