May 11 - 14, 2006
Cost: $950
Once
one of the most lucrative mineral sites in the world, Bisbee,
Arizona is now a Wild West town with gourmet tastes, full
of charming Victorian homes and a variety of Bohemian attitudes.
You’ll go there with photojournalist Jeff Kida, to be
put "on assignment" to capture the people and places
that make Bisbee unique. With
over 30 years experience in photojournalism, Jeff will instruct
you on how to tell a story with your pictures and how to capture
the spirit of the location. A Jeep tour of the town will begin
the trip, and there will be a number shoots lined up in the
homes and shops of some of the town’s colorful citizens.
Here
you’ll learn a key element of photojournalism: to expect
the unexpected and to take advantage of opportunities as they
arise. You’ll take your images into the classroom in
the afternoons to review composition and improve technical
skills, as well as to learn about digital workflow.
