with David Muench
September 26 - 30, 2006 and
October 4 - 8,
2006
Cost: $2,695
We
recommend you fly into Jackson the evening before the workshop
begins in order to get acclimated to the elevation, which
is approximately 6,200 feet. There are a lot of stores and
galleries in Jackson to browse through!
Day One
*
Participants should arrive by noon for lunch. The group
may meet at David Muench's gallery in Jackson, go to lunch,
and then return for a tour and presentation by the photographer.
* The instructor and escort
will find appropriate locations for the group to shoot throughtout
the afternoon and until just past sunset.
* Sunset shoot may be
at the Snake River Overlook or another location deemed best
by the photographer, depending on fall color and quality of
light.
Day Two
*
Sunrise near Oxbow Bend, the Mormon barns or Schwabacher
Landing is a possibility, where fall color can be dramatically
contrasted with the surrounding mountains. Keep an eye out
for the animals that frequent these areas.
* Breakfast is on your
own. Lunch will be provided every day, but other meals are
your responsibility. The group may still eat together, and
your escort will try to coordinate these outings.
* More photography throughout
the afternoon, until past sunset.
* Critique of student's
past work (you are encouraged to bring up to 5 slides, prints
or digital files).
Day
Three
*
Sunrise may be at Schwabacher Landing, Oxbow Bend or
the Mormon barns, again depending on light conditions and
the status of the fall color.
* Appropriate locations
for afternoon and sunset photography might include a return
to Oxbow Bend to get the trees when they are backlit, or a
shoot somewhere along the Snake River, at Jenny Lake or at
Colter Bay.
Day Four
*
Sunrise may be at String Lake or Jenny Lake, which
would give us a chance to see the Tetons reflected in the
cool surface of the water.
* Another full day of
photographing will be capped with a farewell group dinner.
Day Five
* Morning shoot will be
at the Mormon barns, Oxbow Bend, Schwabacher Landing or other
place David feels will yield terrific photographs!
* The workshop ends between
9-11am.
