PHOTO WORKSHOP - Hunt's Mesa & Monument Valley

with LeRoy DeJolie

October 5 - 9, 2006
Cost: $1,925

LeRoy DeJolieDay One

* We leave Phoenix promptly at 8am, so be sure to be at the hotel at 7:30am to load gear.
* On our way to the Kayenta Inn on the Navajo Reservation, we'll stop at historic Cameron Trading Post for lunch. Navajo tacos are the specialty of the house!
* Possible photo stops along the way may include the ruins of Wupatki and a stop at Coal Mine Canyon.

David GoodellDay Two

* Our outfitter will pick us up by 8am and we'll spend the day photographing and exploring Mystery Valley.
* We'll arrive at our campsite high atop Hunt’s Mesa in plenty of time to capture what we hope will be a spectacular sunset.

Doug BacsoDay Three

* Photographing a magnificent sunrise from the unique perspective offered by Hunt’s Mesa will be our goal in the morning.
* After breakfast we'll make our way back to Kayenta, stopping to photograph a number of wonderful sights along the way.

LeRoy DeJolieDay Four

* Monument Valley's many attractions are our subject today during a full-day tour of the valley. We'll enjoy trips to such well-known areas as the sand dunes, Totem Pole, the Mittens and more. We may also visit the home of Navajo weaver Susie Yazzie.

Sam and Mary CisselDay Five

* A farewell sunrise shoot in Monument Valley, breakfast and then home. If time permits, we'll stop at Coal Mine Canyon on the return drive.
