PHOTO WORKSHOP - Nikon / Oregon Digital Workshop

Dean Hueberwith Nikon technical representative
July 10 - 14, 2006
Cost: $1,695

Those who come to Oregon are in for a treat. Nikon has graciously agreed to have one of their technical representatives bring an assortment of cameras and lenses to use during our visit to some of Oregon’s most scenic locales. The first two days of this adventure will be spent in the Columbia River Gorge, Colleen Miniuk-Sperrywith quick and easy access to scenic locations like Sherrard Point and Women’s Forum, as well as waterfalls such as Multnomah, Ponytail and Wahkeena Falls. You’ll photograph in these locations in the mornings and evenings, returning to the retreat center for lab time and to learn about advanced camera settings and functions. You’ll also learn how to enhance images to make them look their best. Then it’s on to the coast and seaside accommodations near Haystack Rock, where you’ll enjoy terrific views of the ocean and have a chance to explore Ecola State Park. Robyn NollOutstanding locations and a chance to learn all about digital cameras and workflow make this an opportunity not to be missed.

Throughout our stay, participants will have access to Nikon's latest digital cameras, which this year may include D70s and D2Xs. These camera bodies can take your entire range of Nikon AF lenses and there will also be plenty of other Nikon lenses on hand with which to experiment. Colleen Miniuk-SperryNikon’s expert instructor will provide personal instruction in the field on how to use the cameras. Friends of Arizona Highways professionals will handle all the logistics and make sure you get to the best locations at the right times in order to capture the ultimate images of the landscapes in this spectacular area. When we are not out in the field, we will make good use of the ‘off-light’ times to learn the details of downloading, manipulating via Photoshop and printing our best images. You will leave the workshop with special images and memories, ready to move to the next level as a digital photographer.

BASIC PHOTOSHOP AND COMPUTER EXPERIENCE IS RECOMMENDED.
