PHOTO WORKSHOP - Sequoias and Kings Canyon

with Marc Muench
May 23 - 27, 2006
Cost: $1,695

Marc MuenchDeep in the heart of California lie two jewels of our National Park system: Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. Both are home to gigantic Sequoia trees, the largest and fastest growing living things on earth, of which John Muir wrote “no description can give any adequate idea of their singular majesty, much less their beauty.” The biggest reach over 2.5 million pounds, and it’s an intense challenge to convey their size through photographs. Robyn NollYou’ll be able to utilize Marc’s expertise to help with that task during the several days you’re in both parks among the awe-inspiring sequoia groves. Then it’s on to the heart of Kings Canyon National Park, where we’ll drive over 4,000 feet down a series of scenic switchbacks to where glaciers and the Kings River have carved immense canyons through rough granite, and to where picturesque waterfalls like Robyn NollGrizzly and Roaring River Falls can be found. Join Marc to visit the soaring mountains, deep canyons, raging waterfalls and, of course, the big trees that make this area unique. Marc will also guide us in photo enhancing techniques using a popular imaging program during afternoon teaching sessions.
