September 13 - 24, 2007
Cost: $3,820
Day
One
We'll meet at the Radisson in Flagstaff at noon for a slide
presentation by the photographer. Today's seminars will
likely include classes on basic photographic techniques and composition.
Day Two
Classroom sessions today will cover more advanced topics of
photography, histograms, Photoshop for photographers and the photographer will conduct
a portfolio review of up to 10 of your images. At 3pm our outfitters, Grand
Canyon Discovery, will meet with us to go over packing
for the trip, safety issues and any questions you may have.
Day Three
After breakfast, our outfitters will take us to Lee's Ferry,
where we'll board our motorized
boats and begin the trip of a lifetime.
Days Four to Eleven
Lots of water, breathtaking sights of waterfalls and hidden
crevasses, hikes into side canyons, photographing others as
they run the rapids and, of course, plenty of tips from our
experienced photographer!
Day Twelve
After arriving at Diamond Creek you will be taken back to
the Radisson in Flagstaff. Arrival times vary, but we anticipate
returning by about 5pm.
EQUIPMENT
Warming filters will help correct for the deep blue shadows
within the canyon and a graduated neutral density filter may
help even out scenes that contain sky. A packet of material
will be sent at registration that
explains in depth what you will need to bring.
