This workshop is a sampler of the many wonders found on Washington State’s Olympic Peninsula. During your stay you’ll travel to the Hoh Rain Forest, spending time photographing in the lush, green, moss-laden interior, where the canopy of enormous Western Hemlock and stately Douglas Firs filter light through to clearings below. Enormous ferns and shy deer can often be found in amongst the big trees and babbling brooks. You’ll also enjoy a scenic drive around the shores of Lake Crescent, photographing along the way and making the easy hike to Sol Duc Falls. Then drive to Hurricane Ridge to visit the sub-alpine meadows filled with wildflowers and boasting grand panoramic views of the Olympic Mountains. Rounding out the workshop are visits to: the historic Victorian seaport of Port Townsend, the Dungeness Spit, the charming town of Sequim at the height of their annual lavender festival and the tidal pools of the Salt Creek Recreation Area. Whether you’re sampling local crafts and cuisine, beachcombing sand and cobble beaches, or surrounded by old growth rainforest or fragrant flowers, you’ll truly have an outstanding time on this workshop for all the senses.
