Day One
- Be sure to be at the hotel at 7:30am to load your equipment. We leave Phoenix promptly at 8am.
- Lunch will be in Cameron, where Navajo tacos are the specialty
of the house.
- We'll check into Gouldings Lodge before a sunset shoot
of the "Mittens" inside Monument Valley.
- In the evening we'll enjoy a slide presentation by our
photographer.
Day Two
Today you'll enjoy a full-day private tour of Monument Valley.
You'll be up photographing before sunrise, and locations
throughout the day will include Sand Springs, Ear of the
Wind, Sun's Eye, Teardrop Arch and many others. Opportunities
to photograph Navajo women weaving and driving sheep are
possible, as is photographing iconic images at John Ford's Point.
Day Three
- Our half-day tour of Mystery Valley will likely include
stops at Pancake Rocks, Halfmoon and Honeymoon Arches.
- We'll travel to Canyon de Chelly for check-in, a short
rest and an evening shoot along the magnificent overlooks
above Tseyi Wash and Spider Rock.
- In the evening we'll conduct a slide critique.
Day Four
- Today will be spent touring Canyons de Chelly and del
Muerto, stopping at such well-known locations as Antelope
House Ruin and White House Ruin, as well as at Standing
Cow, Mosaic Rock, First Ruin and other picturesque locations.
Day Five
- After a sunrise shoot at Tseyi overlook, we'll check out
and may travel to Hubbell's Trading Post in Ganado for a brief
tour. Your instructor may choose to photograph at Coalmine Canyon instead, depending on conditions.
- The workshop gets back to Phoenix in the early evening. We encourage
you to make your return flight reservation for the morning
after our return.
