No other place on earth comes close
to the concentration of natural arches found on the Colorado Plateau. Marveling at the scenery around us, we'll photograph North, South, Turret and Delicate arches, with a few more locations thrown in for good measure.
Then it's on to Canyonlands National Park, where we'll see Mesa Arch, the Green River Overlook and Grand View Point Overlook in the "Islands in the Sky" district. Chuck will guide you to his favorite picturesque locations within each park. You’ll come away from this workshop with dramatic images and a newfound reverence for this sandstone paradise.
This exciting workshop should be a treat for those who love the arches, spires, balanced rocks and other formations shaped by the dynamic forces of erosion and weathering.
SPECIAL
CONSIDERATIONS
The area is dry with little potable water available. Be sure
to carry plenty of water and most importantly DRINK IT. The hikes, especially to Delicate Arch, can be moderate to strenuous, so please discuss your fitness level with us before registering so we can make sure this is the right workshop for you! The workshop will be quite
physically demanding in terms of carrying packs up steep inclines
on what can be very slippery rocks. People should have very
good hiking boots with good soles to minimize slips and falls.
