PHOTO WORKSHOP - Preposterous Landscapes

with Gary Ladd
October 17 - 22, 2010
Cost: $2,495
Register by: August 17, 2010

© Instructor Gary LaddOf all the astonishing wilderness areas sculpted by the Colorado River, none surpasses the beauty and diversity of the landscapes that surround Page, Arizona. We’ll explore this area on foot, by speedboat and by raft to get you up close to the absurd beauty of the dreamscape surrounding this area. We will get out on the water to explore the vast expanse of Lake Powell and Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, where “preposterous” rock formations abound.

© Suzanne MathiaWe’ll travel to the base of Glen Canyon dam for a guided raft trip down the Colorado River, to capture the soaring sandstone walls and petroglyphs in the sole remaining pristine part of Glen Canyon. A hike will take us into Marble Canyon's Cathedral Wash. We'll visit the magical slot canyons at Lower Antelope and marvel at the spectacular and breathtaking Horseshoe Bend.

Gary has concentrated his photographic work on the Glen Canyon area for the past 25 years. He lives in the area, and his training in geology, remarkable teaching skill and unequaled familiarity with the photo locations make him the perfect instructor for this workshop.
